Happy New Year!

0 min read
That went by quickly.  It feels good to be returning to some normalcy today.  The last of the Christmas decorations are put away and I've been ordering glass supplies on-line this afternoon.  I've got more of that lovely Double Helix silvered glass on the way.  A darker version of the Aurae and something new for me, Gaia, which is a clear green rod that strikes into some lovely greens and blues.  We shall see. Hope everyone's New Year is an exceptional one.

Cool, rainy October like weather!  This morning I opened the kiln to find my creations staring back at me.  Will post pics soon.

I'm not a summer person. Not unless I'm in the tropics, snorkel mask on my face and flippers on my feet.  That works.  But for the rest of the time I like my weather cool.  Rainy and cool is good.  Its over 100 here again in Northern California and somehow those kinds of temps do not lure me into firing up the torch and turning up my kiln to almost 1000 degrees.  Not even if it was an air conditioned studio, which it is not. Thanks for the watch!
:w00t: I'm happy you like my shot of the family scene with the small boy in Dubai Aquarium :) Thanks for your support!
It is a wonderful capture Thomas - it brings pleasure to look at for the subject and for the rich colors. You have an interesting life and I enjoy the pictures you take on your journeys. What an experience, to live in Dubai. I'll be watching!
Oh yes, true point there, and I have to admit I'm fearing the moment I'll have to stay put for a long time, which will be soon, as I'm starting to study in fall/autumn and will neither really have the time nor the money. But I intend to make the best out of it and do some reportage style stuff in the surrounding of Hamburg, Germany.
I am sure studying and staying put will lead to more adventure and travel down the line. And more money! Unfortunately not more time though.
